Ashrafuzzaman made DB chief
Additional Commissioner Md Ashrafuzzaman has been named as the chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Detective Branch.
He succeeds Harun Or Rashid, who’s been posted as additional commissioner (crime) of the DMP.
Previously, Ashrafuzzaman was in charge of logistics, finance, and procurement at DMP.
Harun recently faced criticism for taking the six quota reform protest coordinators into custody as well as feeding them at his office and posting pictures on Facebook.
“It is a mockery of the nation,” said the High Court, slamming Harun.
Media reports say that leaders of the Awami League-led 14-Party Alliance also slammed the police officer at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on July 29. A source claimed that the prime minister also seemed unhappy with him
