Bangladesh entertainment industry expresses solidarity with students
Prominent figures from the entertainment industry of the country have expressed solidarity with the 9-point demand of the quota reform seekers and held a protest rally in Farmgate area of the capital on Thursday (August 1).
“We are here with the demand for justice for all the killings, violence, mass arrests, and harassment that occurred during the quota reform movement. We also demand the release of all detained students,” they said in a statement.
As the citizens of Bangladesh, security and justice are our constitutional rights, which came through the great liberation war with promises of transparency, equal rights, and human dignity,” it said.
The artists chanted slogans: ‘We want Bangladesh with fearless and fair human dignity’, 'Prosecute all murders’, and ‘Stop killing, violence, mass arrests, and harassment’.
